Emergency Information If you have an emergency that requires immediate attention, please contact or proceed to the Bryn Mawr Hospital Emergency Room or to a local emergency room for evaluation. The telephone number for the Bryn Mawr Hospital Emergency Room is (610) 526-3580. The emergency room can provide you with instructions and directions.
Pre-Admission Information If you are unsure, call our office at (610) 527-2727 and verify your surgical date and the location for your surgery. The following locations are available for surgery at the Bryn Mawr Hospital. Your surgeon’s choice of location is generally based on the type of procedure and scheduling availability.
- Surgicenter
You will be discharged on the day of your procedure; no overnight stay
- Short Procedure
You will be admitted to the hospital on the day of your procedure and will be discharged within 24 hours
- Same Day Surgery
You will be admitted to the hospital the day of the procedure and Will stay overnight at least one night.
- Main House
You will be admitted to an inpatient bed prior to your procedure.
Most insurances require you or your doctor to get authorization from your insurance company prior to your pre-admission testing appointment and/or admission. Worker’s compensation and accident related admissions also require insurance company approval.
Pre-Admission Testing
Between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, please call Bryn Mawr Hospital scheduling at 610-526-4500 to set up the following appointment(s):
- History and physician examination
- Lab tests
- Chest X-ray
- EKG
- Nursing and Anesthesia Consults
Other special studies that your physician may have ordered for you.

Do not fast the morning of your pre-admission testing. Report to the Warden Lobby 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Valet parking is available at the Warden Lobby entrance on Old Lancaster Road. Parking is available in Visitors’ parking lot, located to the right of the Warden Lobby entrance.
During your pre-admission visit, registration paperwork and tests ordered by your doctor will be completed. Testing can take between 45 minutes and 2-1/2 hours to complete, depending on the number of services you need. Please bring the following items:
- Urine specimen if you are having a urinalysis (put urine in a tightly sealed clean container)
- A list of your current medications with dosages
- Your current insurance card(s)
- Insurance form or referral form if required
- Social security number of the insured person and/or the patient.
- If any of your testing was done elsewhere, bring your results.
