Medical and Surgical FAQs
Will I need surgery for my condition?
Most of the patients seen at Orthopaedic Specialists do not require surgery for their condition. Of course, this decision is made individually for each patient after examination and discussion with our doctors. Many of the conditions that we care for at Orthopaedic Specialists are treated with medicine, therapy, braces, orthotics, or injections. If surgery is indicated for your condition, we will help you schedule the procedure. The doctors at Orthopaedic Specialists perform their surgery nearby at the Bryn Mawr Hospital and the Bryn Mawr Surgicenter.

Should I have an MRI or some other test done before I come in?
Generally, you do not need to have any tests done prior to your visit at Orthopaedic Specialists. Our doctors will review your history and examination and then order the appropriate studies and tests. If you have already had any related tests, scans, X-rays, or MRI's done in the past, please bring them with you for your visit.
