Dr. Wang was raised in Bryn Mawr, PA and is a Radnor High School alumnus. After graduating from Cornell University with a Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was selected to the MD, PhD Program at Thomas Jefferson University where he received a degree in Cell and Tissue Engineering from the Department of Orthopedics. He completed orthopedic residency training at the University of California, San Diego (a Level 1 designated Trauma Center) prior to being awarded a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Upon completion of his fellowship training, he returned home to the greater Philadelphia area to serve the community that he grew up in.

Dr. Wang is the recipient of several clinical and scientific awards including: The James B. Peake Award (Outstanding Clinical Service to US Veterans), AOA-OREF Resident Leadership Forum, Best Resident Research Paper Award (UCSD and Naval Medical Center of San Diego Combined Meeting), The Dubbs Scholar Award (Jefferson Medical School Scholarship), and The NIH Intramural Research Training Award. He is the first author of several peer reviewed articles, with paper presentations at local land national meetings, including The American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), Orthopedic Research Society (ORS), and The Eastern Orthopedic Association (EOA).

Dr. Wang currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Jefferson Medical College and has a special focus on the management and treatment of Hand and Upper Extremity disorders. He resides in Bryn Mawr with his wife and son.
