Dr. Ward is a board-certified Rheumatologist who graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Her three-year residency in Internal Medicine was at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. Her two-year fellowship in Rheumatology was completed from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. From there she joined the faculty at Jefferson and practiced Rheumatology from 1990 until 2001. She then opened her own center specializing in Osteoporosis and other Rheumatic Diseases.

She has tremendous expertise in Osteoporosis. She cofounded and was associate director of the Jefferson Osteoporosis Prevention and Out Patient Treatment Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital from 1995 to 2001. During this time she was the principal investigator for various multi-center clinical trials with large pharmaceutical companies studying the major Osteoporosis drugs on the market today. She has a vast and fundamental knowledge of Osteoporosis and its management which she brings with her as she develops a state of the art Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Center at Orthopaedic Specialists.

Dr. Ward is a fellow of The America College of Physicians (FACP) and a fellow of The American College of Rheumatology (FACR). She has been recognized as “Top Doc” in the Philadelphia Magazine in 1998 and 2000 for women and specifically for Osteoporosis.
